Riverside Theatre Education programs have been inspiring the Iowa City community for over 12 years. Studying theatre means learning about life. Theatre education enriches lives by bringing people together to share ideas, develop theatre skills and expand their imaginations. As individuals pursue their own artistic path, Riverside provides a place for theatre collaboration between students and professional actors, directors, designers, writers and technicians.

Riverside Theatre is committed to providing year-round classes and workshops taught by professional artists for students at a range of levels. Riverside Theatre Education programs encourage creativity, curiosity and challenge ways of perception. They stimulate diverse ways of thinking, problem solving, self-expression and personal growth.

Through the medium of theatre, students deepen their knowledge of who they are and the world around them. Our programs aim to empower artists of all ages as they develop their craft and creative process.

Make your evening with Shakespeare a family affair. Adults accompanied by a youth (18 or younger) receive their tickets at the youth price. Look for further information in January posted here and on the calendar.

GREEN SHOWS (back to top)
An hour before the performance, enjoy a lively “Green Show” by the Intern Company! Feast on the Green with your own picnic basket or select from a variety of refreshments and à la carte items available at the Festival Stage box office two hours before curtain time and during intermission.
