NEW: GENERAL AUDITIONS 2010-11
GILBERT ST. SEASON
Riverside Theatre, Iowa City’s resident professional theatre company,
announces general auditions on Monday,
July 5 beginning at 4 pm for roles in its 2010-11 season.
Selected roles for both Equity and non-Equity actors are available for
productions of BOOM (comedy), ALL MY SONS (classic American drama) and
WALKING THE WIRE (monologues.) Productions, run dates and available
roles:
BOOM by Peter Sinn
Nachtrieb – October 29-November 21 - Jules, a marine
biology graduate student, late 20s; Jo, an undergraduate journalist
student, early 20s
ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller – January 28 – February 20 - Chris Keller,
WWII veteran, 32; Ann Deever, in love with Chris and the former
girlfriend of his missing-in-action brother; Frank Lubey, 30s,
astrology-struck neighbor, and his wife Lydia, late 20s, “a robust
laughing girl”; Bert, neighborhood boy, about 8
WALKING THE WIRE: MONOLOGUES AT RIVERSIDE – March 4-13 - 5-6 non-Equity
actors, each of whom will perform two monologues
Audition requirements: head shot/resume, one contemporary monologue.

RTSF 2010
Professional Company Audition Information
There
will
be a 14-actor (6 Equity) professional company in 2010, as well as
an Intern Company of 8 actors.
All professional actors will be cast in both shows and will also
understudy. Rehearsals begin May 11, with
the first production opening June 11 and the
second opening June 18. The productions,
which will be announced in November, play in repertory through July 11,
a 9-week contract. EMC points are available.
Audition Requirements
P/R; 2 contrasting
monologues, one classical and one contemporary; 3
minutes maximum. For

Riverside Theatre Shakespeare
Festival/June-July
Riverside Theatre's summer facility
is the
Globe-inspired Riverside Festival Stage, set against a bluff and
adjacent to a
willow-ringed reflecting pond in City Park. It has great natural
acoustics - no amplification is used - and is very performer friendly.
The theatre has air-conditioned dressing rooms and permanent audience
seating for 472. RTSF operates on an LOA to a LORT D Equity contract.
EMC points are available for all non-Equity actors and stage managers
in both the professional and the intern companies.
Gilbert
Street Season/September-April
Riverside Theatre's permanent
facility is a 118-seat modified black box located in a vibrant
neighborhood near downtown Iowa City. Auditions are open to both AEA
and non-Equity actors; AEA actors are hired under Special Appearance
contracts. There are audition calls throughout the year as needed.
Regional professional actors can schedule a general audition in Iowa
City at any time of the year by contacting the Artistic Directors.
